A sister’s promise…

Yes, it began with a promise. In 1982, Nancy Brinker promised her dying sister Suzy that she would find a cure for the breast cancer that cut her life so short. Since then, The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure has raised over 1.9 billion dollars. See more details on www.komen.org.

Yesterday, Mark, Emily, Tara and I joined over 6500 people in Honolulu walk the one mile course that was the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure 2011. We locked arms with survivors, family and friends. We walked in our pink shirts and pledged our promise to help find and fund a cure. We walked with teachers, staff and students from our La Pietra school family. It was a moving, inspiring and heart-warming morning.

Remember how powerful a promise is. Stay in integrity when you make a promise. It can reach all parts of the world.

Aloha,
Denise
