A warm, second sighting

In recent months, I’ve made ‘drop off’ trips to my Mom’s home. I can only ‘drop off’ things: groceries, wine, flowers, etc. No visitors, no entering, no taking her out of the building. Sad for me, safe for her.

Yesterday, however, we were able to meet and greet from afar. (thank the stars for aligning!) This made the second time I’ve seen her in the four months I’ve lived in the same city.  It made me so happy to SEE her, even though I could not hug her, which I long to do.

She was waiting outside for us (Sweet T came too) in the heat,  and her happy eyes shone as she greeted us.

We were with her for a few wonderful minutes as she told some stories, assured me she’s fine and well-fed and took the fabulous tortilla chips I brought to her.

Mom and me July 2020

I’m grateful she’s safe and healthy. I hope hugging days return before too long.

Aloha🌺,

Denise
