Be with someone (or people) who you would drive five hours to see for just one (or less than 48) hours.
Over the weekend, I did just that. I drove about five hours to see my high school/college friend’s son get married! Honored to be included, I witnessed the love shared between the bride and groom and the joining of the two families.
Before and after each event (rehearsal dinner and wedding) we hiked on the stunning wooded trails of our accommodation and went fishing off a bridge. The trees reached to the skies and the clear blue sky welcomed them.
I am empowered by independent travel. I reached my destination on time and after almost completing an audiobook. Staying socially distanced was nary a problem; and masks were readily available and worn. I made new friends and reconnected with old ones. Getting home easily made for a relaxing jaunt.
