Thankfulness

Thankfulness comes in a variety of flavors. There’s thankful to be alive; to have food and shelter, and to have the necessities of living. There’s also thankfulness for dear family, friends, and FRAMILY, friends who are your family.

This year for Thanksgiving, I’m not only thankful for pie, I’m thankful for my Mom and my Mom-in-law’s continued good health, my daughter Emily for living her best life, my daughter Tara for advancing her career in computer networking/cybersecurity, my Mark for making enormous contributions to the health care industry and our community, my Professor Kim for teaching me Photoshop, and our new, quiet, charming apartment.

Gratitude fills my heart as well because I’m grateful for my amazing life and all the components of it. When I step on my yoga mat, I declare an intention for the practice and finish with a gratitude statement. I carry gratitude with me as I carry on throughout my day because I have people to cook for, people to love, and places to visit.

On this Thanksgiving Day, I remember celebrations of the past in Dallas, Baltimore, La Habra Heights, Honolulu, New York City, San Antonio, Abu Dhabi, and Chesterfield. I will treasure those memories always, and I will be grateful for the memories I’ll make in 2019 with my immediate family and the wonderful dinner we’re preparing.

Happy Thanksgiving to all! Any traditions you care to share???

Aloha🌺,

Denise
