Today marks a special milestone in our family. Twenty-one years ago today our lovely Emily came into our lives and joined our family. With spiked jet-black hair, strong lungs and teeny features, Emily carved her place in our hearts. Ten days later her hair turned auburn/copper and her features more defined. Twenty-one years later she is a copper-haired, beautiful, intelligent, strong, creative, courageous and loving young woman. I adore and admire her; I’ve taught and learned from her; I treasure the moments raising her and beam with pride when I see her make life choices.
