I’ve moved several times over the past thirty years and learned a lot along the way. Friends are truest when you keep in touch, share interests and respect, and, build on a strong foundation. I love and adore my friends.
I had the opportunity to go to the home opening game for the St. Louis Cardinals baseball game yesterday. I was overjoyed with excitement and anticipation. It was a NDB (never done before) for me. I bought a team t-shirt, prepared my jacket and small handbag, hat and sunscreen. I was ready for the day.
Mark took me to the appointed meeting place. I met the woman who would accompany me to the game. She said she has experience and I should trust her. She was a new friend….
We had lunch, walked around “the Loop”, took an Uber car to the stadium and the fun began. I wish this sylloge could have a different ending, but it doesn’t. We did not get the promised tickets. We did not go into the Cardinals Stadium to sit and watch the game. We did not get to cheer with the 47,566 fans as the Cardinals won the game in the ninth inning. I read about it this morning.
Overall, I had a fun day and experienced much of the excitement and merriment that opening day invites. Next time, I will go with a true friend with history, honor and integrity. No regrets… I still had made my own fun.
Yay Cardinals!
Aloha,
Denise
