Art, a sheikh, great friend and some amazing people

Last night I accompanied my super-FUN friend Ghina to another NDB event: the private opening of a solo exhibition of an artist. When I met artist Joelle A. Kurdy,  (@joelleakurdy) I was drawn in by her charm, authentic smile and lovely fiery hair. Her works are passionate, personal, emotional, colorful and timely. We chatted with her and heard her stories and inspirations. That made the art even better!

Among the glittery, fashion-forward guests were other artists, photographers, journalists and His Excellency Zaki Nusseibeh, one of the main leaders of cultural and art initiatives in this region. He greeted me with a hand shake, a smile and by his first name! He also enjoyed meeting the artist and seeing all the beautiful art in the circular display under the main dome of the Paris Sorbonne Abu Dhabi.

One of my favorite things to do is speak some other languages when I meet new people; this night was no different. I spoke French, Arabic, Spanish and Italian. See Mom, that language degree is useful!

There are so many hidden gems of FUN here…I love going out with Ghina, as she always finds the great ones!

Aloha,

Denise
