It’s been raining here in the desert almost all week. While it’s a different weather pattern than we’re used to, it causes funny faces on people! There are “Oooohs” and “Ahhhhs” and “Oh nos!” Some people are scared while some are puzzled. There are trees uprooted, buildings without roofs, beach party decor fell, car park canopies down and of course, car crashes. Yes, we experienced a big storm system here! I think only the children are happy because there’s no school.
One taxi was found under a lamppost. A man was surfing behind a truck in all the water. Planes were delayed entering and leaving the area. Schools and universities were closed. All this is true. {More photos at http://7days.ae/video-weather-chaos-uae/82399 }
Here’s how I see it:
- The windows and streets got a free cleaning,
- the trees and flowers got watered, a lot,
- the skies are clearer blue and the view from my friend’s lanai was clear to the next country!! (that’s an exaggeration)
- the imminent warm weather starts new conversations,
- the sunset after a good rain is incredible!
Find good in everything!! It’s only rain and on the bright side, it’s only for a short time.
