When I turned 13, my friend Julie gave me this little porcelain box with my (then really unusual) name painted on it. I coveting and protected it. I only put my most valuable goodies in it. I’m proud to say, I still have it today on my vanity table. I also still love my friend Julie.

This year for my birthday I received some other wonderful gifts: purple flowers, hand-made blouses, a silver bracelet, floaties for the ocean and this purple bracelet (see above).
The point is that for 50+ years I’ve loved the all things purple and the wonderful girlfriends I’ve been blessed to have in my life. I was thinking of this and had to put thoughts on keyboard. Do you have friends from grade school? Remember to tell them how much they mean to you.
