I met a man today who was making a basket using every part of a palm frond. The basket was lovely and his handywork exquisite. I told him. He made me a rose out of another leaf. Then I said I was on my way to pick up my daughters from school and he made them each a fish out of a leaf. His love of his weaving craft and his generosity really touched me. That’s the aloha spirit.
The woman at the grocery store was kind, efficient and friendly. She, too, extended the aloha spirit and wished me a nice evening as I paid for my food.
This evening I had a fabulous phone conversation with a dear friend in California. We used to see each other daily, laugh incessantly and dine out frequently. I haven’t seen her in two years; though I think of her often and fondly. It was great catching up with life, our kids and our guffaws.
The aloha spirit is in you, around you and about you. Embrace it! Are you with me?
Aloha,
Denise
