Another wonderful reunion: the magic

As is my custom, I love to fill my days and reunion with friends. Yesterday, a normal blog day, was one of those days. I awoke super early to tidy up so we could spend the day with my HH’s cool uncle. After a brief tour of our place, we walked a bit to a great modern Vietnamese eatery called, Anise. www.anisedenver.com

Ăn ngon miên nhé! ( Bon appétit!)

Making our way through several new-to-me neighborhoods, we arrived at Denver Rock Drill for a tour. This was an amazing tour of a starting-out project that will enhance, benefit, and inspire the surrounding neighborhoods. It’s a 6.7-acre property that dates back to the early 1900s. We met the owner of the project, Byron, a lovely, quiet, visionary man who has big plans for this 1.2-million-square-foot development. Here’s what it looks like now:

Wood bricks

Floor to ceiling pallets
The remnants of track used to make Waugh drills
The remnants of a water tower for trains

Cherokee red, Frank Lloyd Wright’s fav color and straight line style
A chicken house
Denver rock drill the new home of mixed use historical development
The arches
Old electric box
Site plan for the 6.7-acre, 1.2 million-square-foot development
The owner of the project, Byron
The bear inspiration for the big blue bear at the convention center

After our tour, we dropped off our car and walked the two miles to Union Station to reunion with another Abu Dhabi friend, Debbie. Debbie and I traveled together on two amazing girls’ trips: one exploring to Skopelos, Greece, and one trekking trip to Ma-an, Aqaba, and ending in Petra, Jordan. This evening, we sat in the gorgeous center of the 1914 Beaux-Arts train station, catching up and talking story. Staying connected is vital to nurturing relationships.
