Artists of the world, cheers to you!

There are many types of artists—painters, singers, musicians, writers, muralists, photographers, and more.

Last night, I was treated by our daughter to a live concert at the Dos Equis pavilion, featuring Edwin McCain of “I could not have asked for more” fame and “I’ll be” which he sang as his final song. Amazing!!

I met her at the DART Parker Road station in Plano so we could travel to the venue by train to avoid driving, parking, and traffic.

Then, Collective Soul played, “Dirty deeds done dirt cheap” along with their other hits from the 90s. Touted as “a must-see live band,” they put on a lively and entertaining show.

After a few minutes to change up the stage, the 1986-formed band Hootie and the Blowfish took center stage, and Darius Rucker sang his vocal chords off!!! Singing “Time,” “Hold my hand,” “Only wanna be with you,” and “Let her cry,” among others for over an hour. My, oh my, can that man sing!!!! The other uber-talented musicians kept the smile on my face until the last song played at 10:48 pm. Darius, wearing a Dallas Mavericks t-shirt, even announced that the Dallas Mavericks basketball won the Western Conference 124 to 103 over the Timberwolves.

The BEST part of the wonderful evening was spending time with my sweet T. She gifted me the concert, knowing how much I love Darius Rucker, and we laughed, sang, and danced in our seats. My heart is so full of love for this girl. I’m delighted she loves music and live performances.

After walking her to her truck, in the pouring down rain, alone in the Parker Road station parking lot, Mark (who traveled with us from Akard Station to Parker Road Station, then back to Akard Station) and I arrived home at 2:12 am!!!! I haven’t seen that time in years!!!

Artists of the world, keep doin’ your things! Make music. Write songs and books and poems. Paint our world with colorful thoughts of life, people, and love.

Aloha,

Denise
