Back in the saddle again

I’m back from a life-changing, soul-searching, friend confirming trip. My husband and I took our youngest daughter to Southern California to begin her college journey. Within seventeen days, we met a fantastic proprietor of a B&B, welcomed our eldest daughter to join us for the weekend at Disneyland AND the OC Fair, secured and furnished an apartment, saw our parents and family in Dallas, and travelled back to Abu Dhabi on a challenging 17-hour, non-stop flight.

I joined the EMPTY NESTERS club. Whoo hoo.

Today, my exercise, eating and housework routines restart. I will go to the grocery store and cook. I will go out for coffee and lunch with friends. I will search out meaningful, fulfilling work. I will tell myself that my mothering job yielded two lovely young women. I am back in the saddle again.

I won’t lie and say it’s easy. I will say it’s emotional, and on some level I am proud and relieved.

Now it’s time for new adventures, new journeys, new goals and new beginnings.

Aloha,

Denise
