I have come to understand that “you can’t look good and get better at the same time,” is not only true but humbling and satisfying. In my Photoshop class, I do the work, get frustrated, learn, repeat. Many assignments I do five or six times before submitting it for a grade. As much as I want to learn this program and use it in practical applications, I must be patient and give myself grace. I have never been exposed to this sophisticated program before, and I didn’t realize (nor take) the prerequisite courses would have helped!
Now, I’m betwixt and between projects. Having completed two, both fared well on the grade spreadsheet, the third one is looming and most likely will be more challenging and heady.
After sitting for hours using the Move tool, the Drop Shadow tool, and the Legacy Brushes, I took myself to a movie to ‘escape.’ I previewed Maleficent 2, the newest installment starring Angelina Jolie. The show is very dark: on the screen and on topic. The real show, betwixt and between studying, creating, and practicing, was Judy, the Judy Garland movie starring Renée Zellweger. This show was a bit dark due to the true nature of her life, but the message was clear: she was an amazing, troubled talent.
Time to make the doughnuts!

Denise
