Both February’s we’ve lived in Dallas, it snowed. We managed without hot water for several days last year, broken hot water heater, using our gym’s shower.
Yesterday, at 9 a.m. our building lost electric power from the lobby up to all the 15 floors. We have eight windows so we had light until evening. We had enough hot water to take quick showers. We lit our colorful taper candles in our wedding-gift candlesticks. We sat together in front of the darkening evening, our faces aglow, and our conversation lively… just like at a camp out. Our NDB for today.
This morning, Mark took our coffee pot to the basement, where the room has power, and brewed our coffee. Our electronics are charging down there too.
Staying calm, resourceful, and optimistic resulted in a FUN night camping in our apartment.
