Musings and monochromes of my first day as a nomad.
1. I have too much stuff. Do I really need two pairs of sneakers, two pairs of hiking boots, black sandals AND black flats, and sloshy- galoshes??? Probably not…. But what if….???
2. I have a box of desk accessories: tape, scissors, postage stamps, all occasion cards, and of course, pens, pencils, and markers. I have, nor will I have, a desk to store all that away. What do I do???
3. I have enjoyed two hot showers here…both were top notch. This historic 1937-built building is classy, creaky, and cozy, even the shower. Will my future self use all the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash I brought? Not sure, unconvinced.
4. If someone had schooled me in nomadic travel, maybe I would have let go of some of my stuff, or, gasp, not saved so much, long before I found myself schlepping the heavy boxes up the gorgeous hardwood stairs to our accommodation. I would only have a pair of shoes for days and a pair for evenings out. I’d have fewer pairs of shorts, shirts, lingerie, and PJs. Let’s come back to that. I’m living, learning, and already LOVING this adventure.
This enlightened day brings me joy: my self awareness reflections are part of this Shakedown Tour too!
Aloha,
Denise
