July is the seventh month of the year in the Julian and Gregorian calendars. Its length is 31 days. It was named by the Roman Senate in honour of Roman general Julius Caesar in 44 B.C., being the month of his birth. Before then it was called Quintilis, being the fifth month of the calendar that started with March. It is considered the birthday of the USA and is also known as Independence Day. Why is July considered the middle of the year? There are 365 days a year, and July 1st is the 182nd day of the year, placing the month of July right in the middle of the annual calendar.
July first signifies our first real retirement/ vacation day. We are moved out of our downtown apartment, and documenting what we are looking for in our next accommodation. I awoke with a sense of renewed energy. We have more purging and storing to do, but I can see the light at the end of this tunnel.
Bring on the joys of a hot Texas summer!!! We welcome pool, ice cream, or lake invitations!!
Aloha,
Denise
