It’s not enough to go to a party and enjoy yourself. You must put yourself out there and greet new people, drink the pink drink, make small talk, and smile a lot! a.k.a. be creative. Doing that in a room of complete strangers, aside from the person who invited me, can be FUN, inspiring, and touching. In a room of guests, the hostess and the guest of honor know everyone and everyone’s story. The odd guest knows nothing but what meets the eyes… so I chatted with the hostess about her house, travels, and accouterments. I visited with some college pals and family members of the guest of honor. I chose to be a unicorn: sparkly and colorful. To me, that’s the FUN.
Later in the day, I reunioned with a teacher I haven’t seen since the early 1970s. He’s still charming, witty, handsome, worldly, and warmhearted. We chatted for an hour about life then and now. I hope my grammar was spot-on!!

On our last day in lovely Tulsa, on a recommendation, we explored a mansion-turned-museum. Brunching at the Kitchen 27 restaurant energized us to our walk through the beautiful gardens. When we saw a log cabin in the distance and chose to enter, a jolt of “Ahhhhhhh!!!” ran thru me when I saw a “fireplace made entirely of books” and a stained glass window made from glass plates and other glass tableware. Inside the building were paintings, sculptures, and antique glassware. This is a must-see place. https://philbrook.org
Keeping in touch with friends is one of my favorite interests. I’m blessed beyond measure to count the extraordinary people I’ve met in my life as my friends and FRAMILY. Seeing them at every opportunity is the icing on my FUN life cake.
Pro tips: Stay in touch and create new memories with old friends. Stop to smell the flowers.
Aloha🌺,
Denise
