I love walking up and down the streets of Downtown Dallas. Sometimes, I even go as far north as Uptown and Knox/Henderson, and as east as Deep Ellum. What I learn is enlightening and educational:
The DMA has wonderful traveling exhibits. We saw the Cartier and Islamic Art exhibit and loved it. As seen on a billboard outside the museum.
The DSO has performances for all music aficionados. We saw Aida Cuevas sing with the DSO and then met some other mariachi singers who have shows we’ll go see in the future. As seen on a poster on a street pole.
There are still checker cabs in Dallas! As seen on a city street.
The ‘dancing fountain’ on the east side of Klyde Warren Park is finally finished and open! I’ve passed by this as a construction site for the two and half years I’ve lived here. It is lovely during the days but the real action begins at sunset.
Today is PARK(ing) Day Dallas, an annual event where artists, activists, and citizens turn parking spots into temporary public parks and other spaces for people to enjoy.
No photo yet. It opens at 11:00 am today.
Go outside and see what’s in the City! You see more on foot and can stop and smell the coffee/flowers/construction sites.
