Living rooms are for relaxing, listening to music, and living. As I travel and stay in different living rooms, I’m reminded that living rooms are as different as people. Some living rooms are full of artifacts, photos and paintings, furniture, and sometimes fireplaces. One had a pool table, one had a huge screen TV; some have chairs, sofas, and ottomans. All of them have heard lots of stories.
I am also loving the outside decks with chairs and a table, perfect for long conversations, star gazing, and plan-making. I feel comfortable outside with the trees around, like we’re camping or out in the wild. Currently, I can hear a loud bird, the din of the nearby freeway, and small, private airplanes overhead, only until dark.
What I’ve learned lately is I love spending time outside in the Autumn, when it’s chilly not cold; dark not pitch black, sunny not gloomy. Seeing the trees dressed in vivid red and yellow leaves brings me joy. I am most grateful for the change in colors, and the crispy sounds they make on my walks.
More later…
Aloha,
Denise
