Memorial Day 2021

Memorial Day is a federal holiday in the United States for honoring and mourning the military personnel who have died in the performance of their military duties while serving in the United States Armed Forces.

The John Alexander Logan Memorial Statue in Chicago’s Grant Park. Logan, Illinois-born, recommended the creation of Memorial Day, known originally as Decoration Day, and first observed on May 30, 1868.

While it’s a day off from work, it’s a day of reflection. Overflowing with thought and honor, and reverence, I honor those in service. To me, it’s a day to offer thanks and gratitude to those who served the country valiantly. I am humbled and grateful for their service.

Stay well. Stay curious. Stay grateful.

Aloha🌺,

Denise
