My quick, safe outing

I got to escape the walls of this apartment. My HH needed something from the pharmacy across the street, so he voted me to go. Silently I did a happy dance and quickly donned my hiking boots, my hand-made mask, my sunnies, and my credit card. You never know…

Venturing down the block, I saw people wearing masks whilst running and walking dogs. Then, inside the well-lit, sparsely-stocked store, I saw a couple of masked people shopping around and an older man with his mask HANGING OFF HIS EARS not covering his nose or mouth! Jeez! The masks are for his protection and the protection of others should he spread his sick germs via breathing, coughing, sneezing on other people. Why bother? It’s not for decoration, sir! Yes, it’s steamy in there, but it’s on for a good reason.

I’m happy to report, two other masked customers in line waited properly behind the ‘social distancing’ blue line. Why, then, did the unmasked customer linger at the register, reading her receipt, when I was next in line??

I returned home to Lysol my shoes, throw my clothes in the wash, clean off the purchase, and take a hot, soapy shower. It was glorious to be outside, in the sunshine and fresh air. I feel energized and refilled and no longer frustrated and pent-up.

I’m happy to run an errand again!
