Kintsugi — “join with gold” — is the Japanese art of repairing broken objects, often ceramic pottery or glass. Traditionally, gold lacquer is used to piece shards together again, creating a more beautiful object through breaking and repair.
The Italian Chiaroscuro art is one of the classic techniques used by the likes of Rembrandt, Da Vinci, and Caravaggio. Chiaroscuro art uses light and shadow to generate an illusion of light appearing from a specific light source shining upon the figures or objects in the painting.
