In 1969 the children’s TV show Sesame Street introduced a segment called, “Who are the people in your neighborhood….” and the Muppets sang with the man, Bob McGrath, who was one of the two longest-lasting human characters on the series since the show’s debut. He sang about the people in his neighborhood on Sesame Street. Here’s my version (in no particular order) feel free to sing:
- Mickey at the City Tavern
- Sebastian, Emily, David, and Amanda at Wild Salsa
- Anthony and Terry and Ms Kim at Sushi Ya
- Justus and D and Deun at Cask and Kitchen
- Praveen at Shivas
- Dayna and JR at Will Call
- Sara at All Good Café
- Anthony at Charlie’s Starlight Lounge
- Mitzi and Ms Johnnson at Tom Thumb
- The whistling traffic crossing guard, Greg, the mailman, and Christian at the AT&T Discovery District.
Those are some of the people in my neighborhood – all of whom I love seeing when I’m out in the city, and invite you to meet them as well. Who do you know and love in your neighborhood?
Aloha,
Denise
