Around town, Downtown Dallas that is, it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas. Tall trees are erected in parks and covered in balls and lights. Colorful streamers are hanging from trees. From where I sit, colorful lights glimmer along the perimeter of several decks and lanais.
People are visiting for conferences, festivals, sports games, and family time. I see people walking with their phones revealing maps, and seeking destinations. When I’m out walking, I usually stop, and say, “Hi. I live here. May I help you find something?” Nine out of ten times people are grateful and accepting of my help. It’s easy! I love my city, and I love to show it off!
Many activities are published on social media for visitors and locals to enjoy. Walking across Main Street is a treat, as is walking down Elm Street and up Akard to Uptown.
I invite visitors to explore and locals to join me. Hunt the good stuff wherever you live. I will let the festive lights add sparkle and joy to my daily tasks. I used to think Halloween was too early to hoist the Christmas trees, but now I love the colors and feelings the decor adds. We need this. Our city and our country and our world need more color, more joy, more light.
Aloha,
Denise
