Our daily walks have become great sources of inspiration. We have named our walks by the neighborhood we walk through and we change the direction of the walk to double our scenery.
Of the three city walks, I can report there are new colorful restaurants and fancy, architecturally unique hotels that have opened in the past month. The street vendors that used to be scattered along the main streets are not there, maybe because of the heat, maybe because of less foot traffic, maybe because of the economy. Construction of new places (apartment buildings, parks, and playgrounds) is apparent along every main street and side street. When we walk anti-clockwise, I have different experiences, as if I am walking on new streets. The wonder of the walks delights and thrills me.
As this month closes out, I reflect on how much I learned this month from our walks. Learning about these new places as well as our deep conversations, I’m happy to reflect on the experiences. I did meet some new people, so nurturing those friendships will be FUN. I want to see those parks in action so I can hear the laughter and squeals. I want to see the apartment buildings as finished places for new people to move into my city. And, I want to encounter the new places to eat.
Looking back on my goals for the month, I feel successful and complete. How do you feel about your August goals? Tomorrow we have a new opportunity for more goal-setting: learn, grow, explore, create, and nurture.
Aloha,
Denise
