Today we welcome May. The month of spring in the Northern Hemisphere and autumn in the Southern Hemisphere. In Dallas, TX, we have clear, blue skies and light breezy conditions. Hallelujah!!!
The verb may come from the Old English mæg, ultimately related to a Germanic root meaning “to be able, to be strong, to have power.” Fun fact: a native Old English name for the fifth month of the year was þrimilce.
May to me means FUN in the sun, a few trips to see friends, some evening concerts in the parks nearby, some yoga under the stars, and my Emily’s 29th birthday.
Cheers to May! May you have a wonderful, happy, healthy month.
Aloha🌺,
Denise
