According to lore, a.k.a. my mother, I have loved the color purple since I could say or point to it. Today is no exception.
After a lovely reunion with my out-of-town cousin, he noticed (and mentioned aloud) that I have purple fingernails, and a purple phone, and I was wearing a purple sweater. Some things never change.
Indeed, I have loved purple all my life.
Last night, as I walked to dinner (I took myself on a date for sushi), I saw the ultimate purple thing/item/addition to my wish list:
Actually, I don’t WANT one, but I’d love to sit in one and drive it around the block. And of course, snap a pic. After all, no pic, it didn’t happen.
I honor another purple lover I saw in 2009, at a gas station in So. Cal, who was purpled out from head-to-toe-to car:
I am most grateful for manufacturers making essential life things in purple. As I researched details for this blog post, I came across many other purple items I’ve enjoyed over the years: facial tissues, candle lighters, my vacuum cleaners, clothes, shoes, and more.
Purple is the color of royalty and luxury. Consequently, it brings up a feeling of trust and reliability. Purple’s rarity also gives it an air of mystery. It’s associated with creativity and the realm of fantasy.
Say less.
Go out there in the world and find your color, your inspiration, and your air of mystery! I did when I was two years old and I have no intention of stopping now.
Aloha🌺,
Denise
