It’s fabulous to feel welcomed

Over the weekend, I attended my Class of 1980 high school reunion, covid precluded us from meeting in 2020, along with over a hundred dear, darling, dynamic real friends.

Here’s my take (on the reunion and most everything else): Invite me; join me; share with me. Life is so much better when we are welcomed and included in our friends’ lives and goings on. The richness of friends is crystal clear and apparent when we, as a pack species, are welcomed in with others.

Long story short: I picked up Julie at the airport, and the FUN began. Champagne, snacks, laughs, stories, and plans flowed freely. I took nary a picture; rest assured it DID happen. I couldn’t fall asleep that night I was so happy and thoughts-full*.

Saturday took on a ‘busy and FUN’ flair. We had coffee, shopped, enjoyed more bubbly at the pool, then dressed for the BIG EVENT.  “Worth the Wait” party was expertly accomplished, from soup to nuts, errr rather TXMEX buffet to classmate Adam as DJ. Seeing and hugging and dancing with these people filled my heart to bursting levels. I felt loved, included, and acknowledged every single second of the evening, no exaggeration.

EXPERT TIP: Seek out good friends and nurture those relationships. As we age, they mean more than words can say. No need to spend time with people who don’t appreciate you.

Photos below exhibit a brief 2-D showing of the evening.
