I had a FUN and love-filled weekend. I hope you did too. THIS is what love looks like to me:
Pickleball for an hour and a half with new friends, John, Chris, and Laurie. We all played well and enjoyed the cooler air and mostly shady court. Fridays are for relaxing from the week and revving up for the weekend. I’m loving this sport and the cheerful new friends.
From a post I saw on social media, I scored tickets and a plan for our Saturday. We walked up and down the aisles of paintings and sculptures, admiring all the talent and textures at the Dallas Market Hall’s WestEdge Design Fair| ArtExpo. Then we found our exhibitor objective: our multi-talented, elementary school friend Katrina. She was working on a mosaic piece that began as a tree and progressed into a tree nestled between two jungle cats. Her work is exquisite and intricate and colorful and beautiful. While she told us the story of this piece, I saw it differently: through her eyes and story, I could see the patterns and different textiles used to create the ‘story’ on the frame. Check out more of her work at DoranStudioMosaics.com.
Bright and early on Sunday we boarded the DART train to head a bit south to Gilley’s Dallas to cheer on the riders at the Wheel to Survive 10th annual event. Our darling friend, Julie, was our objective this time. We love her and support her efforts to end ovarian cancer forever.
Our weekend FUN finale: Mark scored a ‘front row seat’ for the Dallas Cowboys football game. We watched the game on the 104′ wall at the AT&T Discovery District (our backyard). I love being outdoors and watching the games; Mark not so much. So, my title explains it all: Mark knows I love football, so he sat with me reading on his iPad, the whole time, so I could watch the game and be outside. That’s true love!
Do what you love and love what and with whom you do it.
I hope your weekend was filled with love too. Do share with me what you did in the comments.
Aloha🌺,
Denise
