Findings

Findings in our new neighborhood:

As we took our walk, we searched for parks with equipment to use for hanging and dips. We enjoy a few calisthenics during a workout. We found such bar at Exall Park!! We also found a wonderful, air-conditioned, well-maintained gym!!! Well, it’s a rec center, but it had the gym equipment we seeked.

Upon entering, I was cordially greeted and asked for my ID card. Hmmmm….I remember getting one a few summers ago, when I played a lot of pickleball. I had no idea what came of it, so the sweet attendant looked me up in her computer. Lo and behold I am still in the system!!! The attendant and her friendly colleague gave me a replacement card and gave Mark one!!! Big news: we can use any of the 46 facilities within the 410 parks. There are nine community pools, so we’ll do recon of those too.

The two ladies who helped us were Yulissa and Gisselle. THANK YOU, ladies!! The Dallas Parks and Recreation centers are open to the public and are FREE for people aged 60+. The Exall Park is lucky to have these ladies.

There are public places we pass daily and never explore. My newest mission: to check out the rec centers at all the parks near us along our nomad adventure.

What did you discover today???

Aloha,

Denise
