My cup, er….my sink, runneth over

2020 has been an interesting, challenging, creative year for sure. I  moved to Dallas two days before the lock-down/quarantine order. I took my first walk through the city streets on Easter morning. I began riding my bike along the levee of the Trinity River shortly after that. I saw my mother and mother-in-law for the first time in May, for Mother’s Day.

I’ve explored, grocery shopped, seen a few friends in person (of course, with masks and responsibly distanced,) dined outdoors in restaurants, read hundreds of books, enjoyed Zoom calls with faraway friends, and cooked like an Iron Chef.

Why do I list these? To elucidate that even in challenging times, my cup runneth over with gratitude and positivity. Of course, I’ve had some bad days, but overall, I’m still standing. I am fortunate and appreciative. In the big picture: life is good.

At midnight on December 31st, I’ll be screaming, cheering, and celebrating the end of this year along with the rest of the world. And today, I look back on how far I’ve come and what I’ve been through this year. There have been scary moments, sad moments, and helpless moments…and I’ve pulled through too.

Stay well. Stay positive.

Aloha🌺,
