Saying “Hello!” is one of my favorite activities. Why? Because
people are strangers until they’re your friends.
Last night, as we walked home from the theatre IN THE RAIN (oops, no umbrella, no jacket, no hats) we happened upon a lovely young woman huddled up under cover of a parking garage (car park for my UK/UAE readers). Walking up to her to ensure she was A-okay, we learned she had a flat tire and was waiting for the tow truck. Little did we know we just found some good stuff!
After chatting for several minutes, even stopping to say “Hello!” to SMU Charles who drove up at the same time, we learned that she is the SVP of a marketing company that just took on Cracker Barrel as a client. She then told us of a life-size snow globe set up in Klyde Warren Park, for only one (1) day, serving drinks (adult ones) and sweets. Of course, after a wardrobe change, we dashed over there and enjoyed the lovely holiday feature.
But wait, there’s more!
I spotted our lovely friend and ran over to greet her and hug her hard.
What a lovely experience to happen upon.
Pro Tip: SAY “HELLO!”
