What does a cloudy, chilly morning do for you?

What does a cloudy, chilly morning do for me? It makes me feel sad, glum, cold, and blue. I admit, gloomy days make me appreciate sunny days all the more. But today is especially glum, as I would have been packing for a trip to see my friend, Julie, leaving tomorrow. Alas, she’s not there anymore, so I’m not going. She valiantly battled with the breast cancer monster and suffered defeat.

My friend, Julie, was a force of nature, FUN, creative, and joyful. May her memory always be a blessing for those who were lucky enough to have met and know her.

Cloudy, chilly days offer me the time I need to continue packing and purging for my upcoming next trip. I must finish what I began five months ago with today’s experiences and knowledge. I will keep purging shoes and clothes that no longer fit into my nomad lifestyle. Kitchen utensils (mostly purple) that I won’t need any longer will be shared with the universe, a.k.a. Donated to a place that helps others thrive. Electronic equipment will be properly discarded. NOTE: after watching the Netflix show, Buy Now, I am much more conscientious.

Cloudy, chilly days are an invitation to curl up and cuddle up to watch a long-awaited movie or series, eat soup, or tap in to my gratitude and yoga practices.

Cloudy, chilly days are great for letter writing, photo identifying, and recipe organizing.

As blah as I am in cloudy, chilly days, I recognize the need for them and I will use my time wisely.

What does a cloudy, chilly morning do for you?

Aloha,

Denise
