Happy August!!
The Olympics are captivating my attention.
Knowing that my family is safe, happy, and healthy warms and calms my heart and brain.
Finalizing our second adventure, here in Alpine, TX, soothes me. We did it!! We have been complete nomads for over a month. Next stop: Deep Ellum, TX.
My friend, Kara, asked several questions at the beginning of this trip. Here are my answers:
The three most interesting facts I learned:
1. The Marfa lights are rare and seen by few.
2. Native people (Native Americans and colonial settlers) were in this region in prehistoric times, 18th century {1700 CE}.
3. Love really lasts forever. #thezuzueffect
The three most interesting people I met:
1. Jenna Paulette ( the country music singer whose music video we were cast in) and cowboys Keller and Lucas, who I met then too.
2. Harry Weekley, the scrap artist.
3. Wintle, a friendly, creative, BMW motorcycle-riding fellow traveler. He had great stories and similar interests as us making him easy and FUN to chat with.
Three most beautiful sites:
1. The Sul Ross campus
2. Alpine
3. Big Bend
Three best meals:
1. My HH’s burgers and roasted potatoes
2. Marfa nachos
3. My pesto salmon, pasta, green beans
Three most impactful experiences:
1. Realizing my needs are much fewer than I thought [a month ago]. I am a good traveler.
2. My husband is the PERFECT man for me. I’m so blessed and grateful.
3. Our Nissan Rogue is as great off-road as on the pavement.
More to come…
