About Little Elm

Little Elm, TX was established along Lewisville Lake by “Kit” King in 1844. We enjoyed the heck out of it over the weekend.

A few of my high school classmates are musicians: The Sand Dog Band (https://www.facebook.com/sanddogband) is their name and playing Rock, Folk, and Country songs almost non-stop for several hours was their game. On Saturday night at the Towers Tap House on Eldorado Road (https://www.towerstaphouse.com), my HH and I scored a front-row picnic seat/table to listen to the Band, reconnect, and natter with friends. I even got up and danced!! (not a shocker!)

That was FUN, but the deeper part of this story, which made the evening possible for us is here: we didn’t want to drive from Downtown Dallas out to Little Elm and then drive home after any adult beverages (a 33-mile drive each way). So, I found a hotel on Google and it was missing all of the information. After many attempts to find a working phone number, Mark found one. I called and spoke with Angela. I explained our situation clearly. She told me the hotel is not yet open and is still under construction. I promised her we didn’t mind the construction and would be easy guests. 😉 I even brought my coffee. After a few minutes, she said we can stay there. Voilá: just ask!!! I did a happy dance upon hanging up.

So, here we go: we enjoyed the night of music and friends, then a safe, clean, semi-complete lovely new hotel (the only one in Little Elm thus far) to rest our heads. We are so grateful to Angela, the manager of the hotel, and Jay Mazur, the owner/developer/hotelier. We highly recommend this hotel (to be named The Elm) when it’s open. We will be back!!

The next day we thoroughly enjoyed Leo’s Brunch Spot for brekky (including GF pancakes!!).

Pro tip: Say hello. Ask. Show gratitude.

Aloha🌺,

Denise
