Chocolate and hard candies

As the famous Forrest Gump line goes:

Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re going to get.

When life happens, so do surprises, wrenches in plans, delights, sadnesses, and challenges. So, reaching in and choosing a piece of candy is a good metaphor for life. It’s uncertain and sometimes out of our control.

I choose to be happy, positive, optimistic, and strong-willed. Sometimes, my candy is hard, sour, and unpleasant. I roll with it to the best of my ability.

Another famous quote by Hubbard, “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade” comes to mind. Spin the situation to suit your needs and wants. That’s where my head is this week.

How are you doing with the candy and lemons of life? Feel free to comment below.
