Empty-Nester-Mom-Returning-College-Student

First day: I’m twenty minutes early, for my class starting at 1. I’m anxious, excited and ready to start some new & heady fun.

I scored a good parking spot, hung my student pass up; There’s a very quiet frenzy on campus: like a din or a buzz.

A lot of young faces, black backpacks galore. My belly’s rumbling, my skin is damp, I’m heading in the door!

There’s a metal pencil sharpener affixed to the wall, So something reminiscent of a 1970s Fall!

We each have a work station loaded for fun; I wish I knew how to turn it all on! My fears and anxiety come rushing in, but I will not back down; no quitter within!

This Empty Nester accepts a new challenge in life, I consider myself a learner, no strife. I must press on and make progress in here; Quitting is not an option, my dear.

An hour flys by; my “prof.” is SO great. She is patient and kind, of this, there’s no debate. I’ll do the reading, and, of course, the homework. The projects and videos as well as the classwork.

Day 2:

I’m prepared for the class: reading and videos done. I’m anxious to start on Project #1.

For anyone who takes on a new project in life, I salute you! For in this one, I take pride and acknowledge that it’s different than when I was a youth. Cheers to always choosing FUN & new adventures!
