Fun, color, and fame all around the neighborhood

I added Victory Park to my neighborhood walking loop. Since I’m gunning for six (6) miles per day minimum, I’m exploring other areas of the Downtown/Uptown areas.

Here I discovered a kiss mural, a “celebrate the love of yarn” display, an inviting pub, another quaint & delicious coffee shop (always a plus on a walk!), and the Harry Hines Triangle Park, where I had to do a yoga triangle.

On an evening walk thru Deep Ellum, we discovered another rooftop restaurant/bar, a speakeasy (sadly closed due to COVID), and the National Treasure, comedian Jerod, who told us stories of his youth, his basketball, public speaking, and comedy career, and his life-long love of Dallas.

In addition to the 2021 miles I’m walking & riding this year, I also signed up for the Prevention Virtual 5k walk on May 1st! Join the LoveOfAging team and walk with us! If you’ve never done a ‘virtual’ challenge before, you sign up, track your progress (they usually have an app {i.e. www.Strava.com} added in to count your miles/km), and walk on the event day. Afterward, enjoy the empowerment you reap upon completion. Click the link to sign up, team name Love of Aging.

Keep exploring. Stay well. Say “Hi” to people!

One more thing:  Happy Birthday to my leap year friends who have a birthday on Feb 29!!

Aloha🌺,
