As Simon Sinek proclaims: “…know your WHY” for your business and personal transactions. (https://simonsinek.com) He did a fantastic (one of my favs) TED talk: https://www.ted.com/talks/simon_sinek_how_great_leaders_inspire_action
My “why” is to have FUN and stay YOUNG!
I love to do new things. This week, I went kayaking with my friend Beth, on White Rock Lake. While our first outing together was kayaking in Abu Dhabi (Emily came too), this one was equally FUN and beautiful. I have kayaked with my friends Jeanne and John in Baltimore, but I’ve not kayaked in Dallas…until Wednesday. We saw one snake in the water, several turtles, beautiful trees reaching to the sky, too much rubbish alongside the banks of the creek 😡, and glassy-still water.
I rode my bike to buy some pom-poms at Michaels (22.59 miles RT) and loved almost every minute of that ride! I didn’t love riding on the street 😳: too many people don’t look both ways when they head out of parking lots and alleys.
I was asked to teach yoga via Zoom to other lively yoginis. What an honor that was to me. I’m still thinking about my reply.
This week, I completed 42.13 miles (rode, walked, kayaked), towards staying YOUNG and having FUN. Mantra: never give up!
On today’s agenda is a balloon festival in Canton, TX, about an hour from home. Another outing to add to the WHY: Because it’s FUN and unusual and gets us outside! (https://balloonfestcanton.com/schedule) I’ve attended balloon festivals before (Irvine and St. Louis) AND ascended inside a balloon twice (once in Kenya and once in Scottsdale). The thrill is still in me!
Whatever the outing, my WHY stays the same: Stay YOUNG, Have FUN & do new things (NDBs).
Happy Aloha🌺 Friday!
Stay well. Stay curious. Have FUN every day!!
Aloha🌺,
Denise
