Lovely leather and skilled craftsmen

A day in a new city always calls for exploration. This day is no different.

I went to Coppell, TX for a ladies’ lunch and had to visit the Odin Leather Company, a business I had seen on an ad.

Located in a nondescript row of warehouses, I discover Brandon, a hard-working, bearded, key component to the operation, coming into the workroom.  NOTE: on the door, the sign reads By Appointment Only. He allowed me to enter to look around, for a quick peek. The perimeter of the workroom is brimming with all kinds of leather-specific sewing machines, cutting machines, and work tables. From floor to ceiling, carefully organized by color and weight, is leather in bundles and bolts.

A few minutes later, the company’s namesake and owner Odin, a super friendly, generous with his time, innovative man entered the workroom too. I interrupted a meeting, yet he graciously answered my questions and allowed me to photograph his workspace.

The story: It all started with a leather laptop case, made at his dining room table. Wanting to make more, Odin outgrew the dining room and moved his craft to the garage, then to his warehouse space, three and a half years ago. He and his wife also have a retail store, and they ship to you too!  https://odinleathergoods.com

I love meeting cool people like Odin and Brandon. I’m happy I sought them out and they shared so graciously.

Stay well. Stay curious. Have FUN every day!

Denise
