Today marks many milestones

December 21 holds many important milestones in history and currently. Today “has been chosen as World Meditation Day” as it is the Winter Solstice, “a very significant day for inner exploration in many cultures.” The solstice occurs “because of the Earth’s tilt as it rotates around the sun.” Today is the shortest day of the year.

Coincidentally, today is International Short Girl Appreciation Day, thank you very much, World Peace Day, World Snowboard Day, National Hamburger Day, and first date with my HH Day.

Today, December 21, 2024, my eldest daughter will walk across the stage at University of Hawai’i to accept her hard-earned diploma, her B.A. degree in English Literature.

As I type, I hear the fierce waves crashing onto the beach, incessantly. I am forever grateful for those sounds, and that my daughter’s milestone brought me back to my former island home, where this Blog was born in 2011. I mark milestones here, to remember, to inspire, and to commemorate.

Many great events in history took place on a December 21. I celebrate and respect them all.

Remember to observe and honor days gone by and salute each today.

Aloha,

Denise
