- The Ides of March (/aɪdz/; Latin: Idus Martiae, Late Latin: Idus Martii) is the 74th day in the Roman calendar, corresponding to 15 March. It was marked by several religious observances and was notable in Rome as a deadline for settling debts. In 44 BC, it became notorious as the date of the assassination of Julius Caesar, by his best friend, which made the Ides of March a turning point in Roman history.
- It’s my friend Mary’s birthday. She’s important to me and to my history. We met in St. Louis, at a weight-management competion and the rest is history.
- World Essential Worker day is also today. So, THANK YOU, to all the essential workers out there!! You are appreciated!
When I look out my window and see the sunny, blue sky and pegasus and the gently waving American Flag, I know it’s going to be a great day!
4. HISTORICAL NOTES ABOUT THIS 👆🏻 BUILDING (THE KIRBY BUILDING): The Kirby Building, historically known as the Busch Building, is a 17-story skyscraper in the Main Street District of Downtown Dallas. The structure was completed in 1913 by beer magnate Adolphus Busch to accompany his nearby Hotel Adolphus. The building became vacant with many older buildings during the economic downturn of the 1980s. While the building was symbolic of downtown’s crash in the 1980s, it also served as a symbol of the start of the resurrection as it became the first high-rise to be converted from office use to residential apartments. The structure is a Dallas Landmark and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. You know I love historic places!!
