What we learn by saying, Hi!”

As mentioned in the last post, I have enjoyed foods and learnings. Let me explain…

I said, “Hi!” to Tommi at our building’s pot luck, and she effusively told me about the Ideal Market. Yes, currently that’s its name. Upon entering, I recognized it as Whole Foods. It IS ideal!!

The mission was cheese. Fortunately, I met Ross. After a few questions, he shared his love and education of cheese with me. I came away with three cheeses that night. I’ve returned to more charming, educated, and helpful cheese professionals; and have enjoyed each choice and recommendation. All these are his recommendations based on what flavors I like.

I also toured the Molly Borown house and museum. It’s a beautiful building with a rich story, and a history of a wonderful and truly inspiring woman, Margaret Toubin Brown. She would be a perfect leader of a country. Read all the placards for details I thought were fascinating. She was an huge supporter of all women. Our storyteller-guide, Diana, was thorough, clear, and professional.

Another MUST SEE in Denver is the state capitol building. I highly recommend joining a guided tour with a fabulously intelligent and knowledgeable docent. Ours was Matt, and he knew so much about the building, its former occupants, and even questions from the curious audience. On our own, we explored Mr. Brown’s attic, and some behind the scenes places.

Today we strolled a lovely Farmers Market in Longmont. The fruits, veggies, and gluten free breads were so rewarding. Our haul (below) is a gorgeous rainbow of yummy!! Then we stopped to eat and walk up and down the Main Street of Boulder. Two new places for me!!
